Our friend R. Winston Guthrie’s book “A Taste for Absinthe” arrives at book stores Tuesday, Sept. 21. He was kind enough to send me an advanced copy. It’s a collection of 65 absinthe cocktail recipes compiled fromĀ  mixmasters and bartenders nationwide. It also includes a brief history of absinthe, how to tell real absinthe from fake absinthe, some absinthe reviews and much more. This great book was published by Random House and the production quality is excellent. From the hardback to the quality of the paper and the superb photography, this book is top notch. Whether you’re an experienced abintheur or a novice, this book has something for everyone. Well worth the modest selling price!

It’s time for a day off of work to celebrate all of our efforts throughout the year. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy the day than to kick back and dance with the Green Fairy. I’ll be drinking Epoque and Suisse VerteĀ  absinthes today. How about you?
