Absinthe ALANDIA Suisse La Bleue

Absinthe ALANDIA Suisse La Bleue

Product No.: A1318
Shipping time: 10-12 days

Besides France, Switzerland is considered as the birthplace of Absinthe. During the times of Absinthe prohibition bootleggers produced a special sort of Absinthe in Switzerland. It was crystal clear (not green) camouflaging the real content of the bottles. These Absinthes are known under the name "La Bleue", refering to the blueish louche which appears, when cold water is added to the clear distillate. Absinthe ALANDIA Suisse La Bleue is a typical La Bleue Absinthe. It is based on a historical recipe and distilled using traditional artisan methods. Colouring or any artificial additives would never find its way into an authentic La Bleue Absinthe. Sipping this very special elixir is a sensory experience, the scent of honey and flowers, and the complexity of the first sip introduces you into a fascinating world of taste. Enjoy!

Info: The label of our Absinthe Suisse La Bleue shows the original Absinthe prohibition poster. The date and picture on the left side symbolizes the founding of Switzerland, on the right side you see rotten landscape, symbolizing the downturn of the country blamed on the Green Fairy. In the middle you see the anti alcohol monk, which has defeated the Green Fairy. Actually this poster was an ironic reaction to Absinthe prohibition. The Swiss always loved Absinthe and although Absinthe production was prohibited you could always find clandestine Absinthes throughout the country...

Review:
Opened the bottle and was hit with a strong anise. Poured out clear and took very little water to louche. The louche itself was milky and filled the room with black licorice aroma. The taste? Heavy anise and maybe an undertone of fennel, really similar to Lucid. Within a few minutes, numb mouth and face. Wasn\'t fantastic or great, but it was the best out of the 4 bottles I got.

Very good flavor, perfect louche. Smooth, with interesting aftertaste. Certainly one of the best I've tried so far.

This has a great aroma, excellent taste and louche. I've tried all of the LaBleues out there, and this one is the best. Highly recommended!

This absinthe had a lovely milky, cloudy louche, a sweet flavor even without sugar, and a wonderful effect. I would order this product again and shipping time was quick as well.
